Leon Allen Milligan, 71, of Manfield, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at his residence. Born January 25, 1942 in Mansfield, he was the son of Ivan and Helen (McClurg) Milligan.
A veteran of the United States Army, he retired from the maintenance department of Mansfield City Schools. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He was proud of his flower gardens and enjoyed the birds they attracted especially hummingbirds.
He is survived by two sons, Craig (Nicki) Milligan of Pennsylvania and Chris (Rita) Milligan of Lucas; four grandchildren, Meadow Milligan, Tyler and Seth Confer and Alex Milligan; two sisters, Marilyn Minich and Pat (Jack) Merchant; three brothers, Ronnie (Ida), Dick (Barb) and Jim Milligan; the mother of his children, Jolene Milligan; a sister-in-law, Wanda Milligan; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pam Milligan and a grandson, Dwayne Bond.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Dawn Donato. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery where full military services will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Friends may call prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.
