Carlene Nabors, 78, passed this life on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Winchester Terrace Nursing Home after an extended illness.

She was born on Thursday, Dec. 1, 1938 to the late Howard and Mattie (Bobo) Nabors in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and had lived in Mansfield the past 58 years. Carlene retired from Sonitrol Security in 1993 after 25 years of service, and attended Shiloh Full Gospel Baptist Church.

She enjoyed watching her grandchildren, gardening, and throwing her annual July 4th and Christmas parties. Carlene is survived by six children: Doris, Victor, Dwayne, and Anthony Nabors Sr., of Mansfield, Teresa Nabors, of Cleveland, and Glenn Nabors, of Long Beach, California; three children she raised as her own: Pamela Burrage-Tanner, Douglas Burrage, and Pamela Crotty, of Mansfield; one sister: Bertha Nabors, of Mansfield; 22 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Carlene was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Shoto, Amatullah Zakiyyah Salaam, and three brothers, William, Columbus, and James Nabors.

Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Services with Bishop Sylvester Ginn Sr. of the Hessed Agape Ministries Church officiating. Friends may call at the chapel one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. till the time of service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
