MANSFIELD — A dead body, believed to be a person missing from Lexington, was found Saturday afternoon at Gorman Nature Center, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Major Joe Masi of the Richland County Sheriff’s Office said the office received a call in the early afternoon upon discovery of the body.
“No foul play is suspected,” Masi said, “so we have to do a medical examination.“
Masi said the coroner typically does an autopsy within a day or two of receiving the body.
The name of the deceased was not released at the time of publication.
