Of the six teams that competed in the Holly Hills/GlenOak Early Bird Baseball tournament in Canton this weekend, only one could prevail. Dan Hall’s 11U baseball team from Ontario was that team.

The Warriors were undefeated in the tournament, blowing past the Fairless Falcons 12-0, the Greentown Wildcats 5-3, Springfield 8-1, and finally, passing GlenOak 6-1 in the championship.

The ace for the Warriors was Caden Armstrong, a left-handed dynamite. Armstrong led his team of Warriors, including Spencer Hall, Ryan Brophy, Kolten Kurtz, Avery Hooks, Griffen Shaver, Damarius Taylor, Daniel King, John Nagel, and Ethan Glenwright to victory. Coaches for the Warriors are Dan Hall, Pete Brophy, and Andy Kurtz.

Coach Hall had this to say about his team, β€œThe theme for the weekend for Ontario was respectβ€”many of the competitors thought we were from Ontario, Canada. The kids took it upon themselves to make sure the other teams knew where Ontario, Ohio was by the end of the tournament.

“It is really nice to see hometown boys do so well in a tournament like this one. Our kids showed some real heart this weekend and played like Warriors!”

The Warriors plan to continue their reign when their regular season starts on May 11.Β
