Kathleen DeLong, age 91, of Shelby, died Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Crestwood Care Center.
She was born February 10, 1926 in Georgetown, Texas the daughter of the late John and Lydia (Lockhart) Cashen. Kathleen was a 1943 graduate of Florence High School in Florence, Texas. On May 19, 1943 she married Forrest A. DeLong in San Antonio, Texas and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2014.
Kathleen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Shelby and was a homemaker.
Kathleen is survived by her children: Sandy (Bill) Russell of Shelby, Jim (Donna) DeLong of Canton, Michigan, and Bill (Kathy) DeLong of Cottonwood, Arizona; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister: Mary Lynn Robertson.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 11:00 am-Noon at Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be held at Noon at the funeral home with Rev. Edna Stahl officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
