Neos Center for Dance, the official community dance school of Neos Dance Theatre, will offer dance classes in ballet, hip hop, theatre, tap, and introduction to ballet for students and dance lovers of all ages.
Classes start on Tuesday, September 2.
The professional dancers of Neos Dance Theatre will join forces with Neos Center for Dance and once again offer community classes in multiple styles of dance. A newly formed roster of teachers will lead classes for students from age 4 & up.
Bobby Wesner, Artistic Director of Neos Dance Theatre and Director of Neos Center for Dance, will teach multiple classes on Monday evening as well as an all new Dance for Boys class.
“Offering classes that take the students from their current understanding of the art form and leading them to a greater awareness and ability is a wonderful challenge for dance educators,” stated Wesner. “Students of all ages and abilities react so well when they are treated with respect and encouragement and I feel my local and farming background allows me to connect with many different perspectives.”
Mary-Elizabeth Fenn is resident choreographer for Neos Dance Theatre as well as a Company dancer. Fenn will teach the Introduction to Ballet classes for the youngest students, as well as the Wednesday Hip Hop and Ballet classes.
Fenn currently conducts multiple private dance lessons to Mansfield’s community members and is a visiting instructor at Candy Apples Dance Center where the very popular cable program Dance Moms is filmed. Fenn has received awards for her choreography in New York City, toured with Kanye West and earned her BFA-Dance degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Brooke Wesner, Co-Founder and dancer for Neos Dance Theatre, will alternate teaching the Intermediate Ballet class on Tuesday afternoon. Brooke Wesner is a new addition to Neos Center for Dance and has performed professionally for 18 years. She and her husband Bobby are parents of 4 daughters and live in Ashland, Ohio. “Being a mom has helped me learn how to separate what I do as a professional dancer and how I teach younger dancers to learn and grow in their technique,” said Brooke Wesner.
Anna Trumbo, from Seattle, Washington has performed with Neos Dance Theatre for 3 years. After teaching multiple specialty classes for Neos Center for Dance Anna joins the teaching staff on Thursdays for the Open Ballet class. Anna brings a wealth of knowledge from her alternative studies in dance and movement from schools and teachers around the globe.
