Willa Rose Holkenborg, age 87, of Mansfield, passed away late Tuesday evening, March 17, 2026, at The Good Shepherd in Ashland.

She was born on February 8, 1939, in Grayson, Kentucky, one of eight children of the late James and Gladys (Bradshaw) Morris. Rose retired from Kroger where she worked as a cashier and office assistant. She enjoyed being a homemaker and her hobby was cleaning (slightly an obsession!) and she was known for how well kept her home appeared. She enjoyed canning with her sister and taught her daughter all the ins and outs of her craft.

Rose enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her rose bushes, but most pleasurable was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she truly adored.
Church was a priority in Rose’s life, and she was a member of Abundant Grace Fellowship where she made many treasured friends over the years. She enjoyed participating in activities, worked tirelessly in the kitchen, and she especially enjoyed preparing lunches for the children during vacation bible school.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Robin Owens; two grandsons, Ronnie (Mili) Owens and Dylan (Brittany) Owens; two great-grandchildren, Liliana and Liam Owens; two sisters, Dewan (Ed) VanCura and Fern Carroll; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Peter Holkenborg; grandson, Joshua Owens; two sisters, Jean Shearer and Anna Markin; and three brothers, Kenneth, John and Clifton Morris.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Bishop Mark Menke officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park.
