Effie Elizabeth Cole, age 94 of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at The Willows at Tiffin in Tiffin, Ohio

Born July 26, 1931, in Shiloh to William and Frances (Jeremy) Ziegler, she was sixth of twelve children . She was a 1949 graduate of Tiro High School. She worked in food service at Cornell IGA and for 19 years at Pioneer Joint Vocational School retiring in 1999.

Effie was a member of Lifepoint Community Church in Plymouth. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her famous molasses cookies, which she liked to share with many friends and family. Throughout her life, she was close to her sisters, Pat and Dorothy.

Those who cherish her memories include her sons-in-laws, William Waldbauer of Tiffin, and Herbert Songer of Galion; her daughter-in-law Kathleen Cole of Crestline; her nine grandchildren, Matthew (Angie) Songer, Michael (Casey) Songer, Kendra (Brett) Vernon, Nicole McNulty, Tyler (Amanda) Waldbauer, Amy Dixon, Collette (Mark) Davis, Mark Cole and Heather (Brian) Belden; her twenty-one great grandchildren, Megan, Claire and Brooke, Faith and Austin, Molly and Blake, Ashley, Allison, Alaina and Aleigha, Daniel, Nora and Macie, Audrey and James, Cole, Lauren and Owen, Meghan and Elizabeth; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends Jan Frazee and Teresa Hess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Marlin Cole, 2012; her twin daughters Ardella Waldbauer and Arlene Songer; her son, Rodney Cole; and her eleven siblings.

Friends and family may come to honor Effie’s life on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Lifepoint Community Church, 260 Riggs Street, Plymouth, Ohio 44865 starting at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rich Hurles officiating. A private family graveside service was held at Tiro Oakland Cemetery.
