FINDLAY — Brayden DeVito’s sensational senior season just got a little better.
The Shelby standout was selected the Division IV Player of the Year when the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association unveiled the All-Northwest District team Thursday.
DeVito, who will play football for Air Force next fall, averaged 24.1 points per game. He helped the Whippets reach the district final.
He was joined on the Division IV first team by Ontario’s Cardae Brown. The 6-foot-3 sophomore averaged 21.5 point per game.
Shelby’s Landon Foltz and Ontario’s Trindon Flenoury were second-team picks. Foltz averaged 11.3 points a game, while Flenoury averaged 18 points a night.
Galion’s Parker Tinch was a third-teamer. Tinch averaged 11.7 points a game.
Clear Fork’s Carter Coole and Trey Sellers, Shelby’s Michael Shepherd and Galion’s Dominic Capretta were honorable-mention selections.
Division III
Mansfield Senior’s Kaylen Brooks was north central Ohio’s lone representative on the Division III first team. The sophomore averaged 22.3 points per game.
Madison’s Justin McCraney and Lexington’s Dantrell Hughes were second-teamers. McCraney averaged 15.2 points a game, while Hughes was good for 14.6 points a night.
Mansfield Senior’s Rashad Reed Jr. was a third-teamer. The senior sharpshooter averaged 11.5 points a game.
Mansfield Senior’s D.J. Corbin, Madison’s Kaleb Gordon and Lexington’s Jayden Perkins were honorable-mention picks.
Division VI
Crestview’s Karter Goon was a first-team selection in Division VI. The senior averaged 18 points a game.
Crestview’s Daniel Wells and Drew Spoerr and Mansfield Christian’s Josiah Schleusener were honorable-mention picks.
Division VII
Plymouth’s Jarrett Burrer earned a spot on the Division VII first team after averaging 19 points a game.
Crestline’s Kody Lawhorn was a second-teamer in Division VII. The junior averaged 16.1 points a game.
Crestline’s Kieran Barnett and Plymouth’s Izaya Reynolds were third-team selections. Barnett averaged 10.8 points a game while Reynolds dropped 14 points a night.
St. Peter’s Wesley Roberts and Markeis Johnson, Crestline’s Weston Clark, and Quentin Kapp and Lucas’ Cooper Day were honorable-mention picks.
