Evelyn Marie Conners, age 89, of Mansfield, passed away after a long battle with dementia on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Oak Grove Manor.
She was born on November 26, 1936, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Howard and Edith (Long) Jacobs. Evelyn retired from Hartman Electric after 30 years. She was a lifetime resident and since 1973 was a member of Diamond Hills Cathedral Church.
Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Linda Johnston; three grandsons, Marjoe (Brooke) Taylor, Jimmie Conners and Sean Conners; five great-granddaughters, Kelsey (Cody) Kennedy, Sadie (Ben) Stewart, Maddie Taylor; Haley Taylor, and Lorelia Conners; six great-great-grandchildren, Liza, George, Henry, and Summer Rose Kennedy, Mackenzie and Michael Stewart; brother, David Jacobs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jim Conners “Turkey”; grandson, Michael Taylor; brother, Paul Jacobs; sister, Mary Crider; and son-in-law, Larry Johnston.
Family and friends are invited to visitation which will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm at Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, OH 44902. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 pm.
