Anthony Tom Fanello, age 100, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away at Baptist Hospital on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He was born February 6, 1926, in Mansfield, Ohio, and was the son of Joseph and Mary (Mazza) Fanello.
He was employed as a mechanic at Shiloh Corporation. He attended Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola and enjoyed visits to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Sons of Italy. Golf, gardening, and working on family farm equipment were favorite pastimes. Making homemade wine and going camping were activities that brought him joy.
Anthony is survived by his children, Anthony (Nancy) Fanello, Jr., Kathryn Fanello Monroe, Joyce Fanello, Paul Fanello, Rocco (Christy) Fanello, and Barbara Fanello; siblings, Rose Harris, Mary Lou Fanello, and Frank (Norma) Fanello; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jenni (Robert) Toms, Dominic (Rose) Fanello, Rocco (Peg) Fanello, James (Kathleen) Fanello, Joseph (Sue) Fanello, and Sam Fanello; in-laws, Joe Harris.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 am with additional visitation beginning at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
