MORROW COUNTY — A 27-year-old Mount Gilead man and his 10-year-old daughter died Sunday evening in a two-vehicle accident, according to the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 6:56 p.m. on Morrow County Road 25, near Ohio 61, in Lincoln Township, troopers said.

Skylar Beveridge of Mount Gilead was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty eastbound on County Road 25. Brody Vance,18, of Marion, was driving a 2011 GMC Sierra westbound on on the same road.

According to the patrol, Beveridge’s vehicle traveled left of center and was struck on the passenger side by Vance’s vehicle.

The Jeep Liberty came to rest on the north side of the road and the GMC Sierra
stopped on the south side of the road.

Morrow County EMS transported Beveridge to Morrow County Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Beveridge’s daughter, a passenger in the Jeep Liberty, was pronounced dead at the scene by Morrow County EMS, the patrol said.

The occupants in the Jeep Liberty were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the patrol.

Vance was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital by Delaware County EMS with serious injuries, troopers said.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Morrow County EMS, and Delaware County EMS.

Alcohol/drugs are not suspected factors in this crash, which remains under investigation.
