RICHLAND COUNTY — The North End Community Improvement Collaborative, Richland County Transit, and Richland County Regional Planning have teamed up to conduct a transportation insecurity research study, sponsored by the University of Minnesota.
These local organizations are recruiting community members to participate in this study.
The Mobility, Access, and Transportation Insecurity (MATI) study aims to understand barriers to transportation, as well as the impact of transportation services on people’s quality of life within Mansfield.

To study the effects of the targeted program for addressing transportation insecurity, this analysis includes data collection before and after the transportation service (a new early morning and late evening Richland County Transit bus route).
All participants are expected to complete an in-person travel behavior survey with data collectors. A smaller number of participants will also be invited to complete a qualitative interview.
Participants will be compensated $50 for successful completion of the survey. Participants selected for the interview will be compensated an additional $50.
You are eligible to participate in the research study if you are 18 to 64 years of age, currently working or looking for work, live in Richland County, experience transportation challenges, and live within the study area.
