Anne M. Vaughn, 89, of Mansfield, passed away on February 11, 2026, at Cherry Blossom Assisted Living in Columbus.

Born on August 27, 1936, in Cleveland, Anne was the daughter of John and Anne (Kanera) Geller. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1954. Even if you didn’t know Anne personally, you may have seen her at the Balloon Factory or portraying one of the many characters she brought to life at their events, including the balloon launch at Mid-Ohio.

Anne dedicated countless hours as a volunteer in her community. She served in many capacities at St. Peter’s and contributed her time to the March of Dimes, Kingwood, The Store, Feed the Needy, and local Democratic Representative efforts. She also cherished her years as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. Known for her generous heart, Anne would help anyone in need—whether by cleaning homes, offering rides, or caring for their animals.

She had many passions, including motorcycles, snow skiing, crafts, traveling, and—most of all—spending time with her family. For fifty years, Anne shared her famous homemade strudel, a beloved treat enjoyed by everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Vicki (John) Gaul Eberle; son, Mark (Cheri) Gaul; grandchildren Jennifer (Trevor) Cooke, John Eberle Jr., Allison (Andrew) Brinkmeyer, Luke (Rachel) Gaul, and Jordan (Ben) Radojcsics; great‑grandchildren Cameron, Andrew, Michael, and Brady Cooke; Parker and Cooper Dorsett; Conrad Brinkmeyer; Jonas and Milo Gaul; and Ethan Radojcsics; great‑great‑grandson James Cooke; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Knapp; brother‑in‑law, Leroy Knapp; niece, Cindy Knapp Wrobleski; and her dear friend, William Vaughn.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 60 S. Mulberry Street. Burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capital City Hospice or the March of Dimes.

Herlihy Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
