Frances Pearl Granger, age 85, of Ontario, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at Avita Health System-Galion Hospital.
She was born October 4, 1940, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to the late John and Gertrude (Cordell) Riekirk. In her early years, Frances used her unique beauty to her advantage and worked as a fashion model in Baldwin Park, California, and modeled for Jacobson’s—an upscale department store— in Kalamazoo. She married Richard Granger on September 22, 1961, and made her family her full-time career as a homemaker. Frances enjoyed working in the yard and her care and attentiveness to detail showed. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She had a passion for collecting dolls of all varieties and found peace and quiet in completing pages in coloring books.
Frances is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard Granger; daughter, Susan Granger; granddaughter, Gabby Granger; family friends, Linda Granger and her mother, Sharon, and Josh Bodnar; and her beloved dog, Evie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Kay Granger in 2016.
