He was born on August 17, 1947, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Daniel W. C. Martin and Nelly (Magataux) Martin Sharp Rolfe. Following his graduation from high school, Dan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was trained as a medical technologist. After completing his military service, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University and obtained his certification, building upon his service training and establishing a lifelong career in medical technology.
On June 14, 1975, Dan married the love of his life, Marsha Hollar. Together they shared 50 years of travels, laughter, and memories together.
In his free time, Dan found great enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. He loved tending to his garden, spending quiet hours reading, and cooking for those he cared about. A devoted history buff, he especially enjoyed learning about the Civil War and World War II and the stories that brought those times to life. Known for his quiet nature, loyalty, and sense of responsibility, Dan was a deeply loving man whose family meant everything to him, especially his grandchildren and his cherished grand-pups.
He is survived by his loving wife Marsha Martin, sons Daniel W. (Stephanie) Martin, Stephen Martin, and John D. (Chelsey) Martin, grandchildren Colton, Hannah, and Wesley, as well as many extended family members and friends that he loved and enjoyed countless happy memories with.
