“When will more apartments be available downtown?”
That is the question Mansfield Rising hears more than any other.
The citizen-led group helping guide improvements in Downtown Mansfield wants to hear directly from the community. The Source and other partners are helping them spread the word.
Mansfield Rising has launched a short, anonymous survey to better understand how residents feel about downtown living and what they want to see next.
In just three to four minutes, participants can share their perspectives on housing interest, desired amenities and what feels like a fair price point.
The timing is intentional. Downtown Mansfield is in the midst of a significant transformation.
Tens of millions of dollars have been invested in local businesses and properties, and Main Street is currently undergoing a year-long renovation.
Before long, the downtown landscape will look and feel very different than it does today.
What types of apartments or homes make sense downtown? Who would choose to live there? What features would make downtown living more attractive, affordable and accessible for a range of residents?
Mansfield Rising hopes to answer these questions with help of residents who know the area best.
Anonymous survey responses will be shared with developers, planners and community leaders to help inform future decisions about what gets built, when it happens and how it fits into the broader vision for Downtown Mansfield.
Whether you’ve imagined yourself living downtown someday or simply care about the future of Mansfield’s heart, this is an opportunity to have a voice.
