Jackson “Jax” Turner, age 24, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Jackson was born March 7, 2001, in Marion, Ohio. He graduated from Buckeye Central High School in 2019. He is survived by his parents, Kimberly Turner of Shelby, Ohio, and Alan Corbin of LaRue, Ohio.
Jackson attended the Troy Price Horseshoeing School in Indiana, becoming a farrier. A cowboy at heart, he was most content in the mountains out west, pursuing his dream. He loved all genres of music and had a deep respect for classic country artists such as Merle Haggard, among others. Jackson’s musical passion and natural talent enabled him to master several instruments, though the guitar remained closest to his heart.
Jackson stood 6’10” tall, and while he could be a smart ass, he was truly a gentle giant-known for his genuine warmth, sharp sense of humor, and heartfelt embraces. He brought light into the lives of many, and his presence will be profoundly missed.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack E. Turner and Myrna and Jim Bricker.
Friends are welcome to celebrate Jackson’s life, Saturday, March 7, 2026, on his 25th birthday at the Shelby Owls. Times will be announced at a later date.
