Thomas Jefferson Staton Sr., age 81, of Galion went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on Saturday January 10, 2026 at Altercare in Bucyrus and is now walking the streets of gold in Heaven.

Born February 24, 1944 in Turkey Creek, KY, he was the son of the late Jessie and Mary (Lowe) Staton. He married Nora Davis on March 16, 1963 and she survives.

Jeff worked for many years as a spray painter for the former Galion/Komatsu Dresser. He was a member of Gospel Baptist church and taught Sunday School there and Southview Baptist. He was an evangelist and preached at many area churches. He enjoyed studying the Bible, spending time with his grandchildren and the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his wife Nora, he is survived by his children: Deanna (Steve) Michalek, Thomas Jefferson Staton Jr., Steven Thomas (Rebecca) Staton and Sam (Jamie) Staton, grandchildren: Chenee Staton, Jackson Staton, Callie Staton, Ashton (Corey) Berquist, Mason Staton, Stephanie Michalek, Sami Michalek, Madison Staton, Grace Staton and Hannah Staton, great grandchildren: Graden, Zoe, Uri and Addy, sisters: Juanita (Jack) McCague and Eddy Carol Staton, brother Charlie Staton and his dog Pugsy who he enjoyed feeding Arby’s roast beef sandwiches to.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several other siblings.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
