MANSFIELD — Crestview’s Jack Stephens didn’t waste any time.
A senior 175-pounder, Stephens pinned Bucyrus’ Isaac Makeever in 1:15 of the first period in his opening-round match of the 63rd J.C. Gorman Invitational on Friday.
It was the 100th career win for Stephens.
“It means the world to me,” Stephens said. “I’ve put four hard years into this. I wanted to get it last year but I didn’t make it.”
Ranked No. 8 at 175 in Division III, Stephens was in command from the onset. He took down Makeever in the opening moments and never relented.
“I wanted to come out and take control,” Stephens said. “It means a whole lot.”
