Angela Kocaman, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the Ohio Health Hospital in Mansfield, surrounded by her loving family.
Angela was born on November 12, 1970, in Shelby to Louanna (Oney) Hall. She had been a Shelby resident for the majority of her life. She married the love of her life, Senol Kocaman, in 2017. Together they owned and operated Diner 39 in Shelby, pouring their heart and soul into the business over the last six years. She was passionate about serving others and cared deeply for those she held dear in her life. She treated her customers as if they were her family, often times checking up on regulars making sure they were in good spirits and health and had the things they needed.
Angela was the heart of her family. She was a woman whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched everyone she met. To know her was to feel welcomed, cared for, and truly seen. She had that rare gift for making people feel at home, whether through comforting conversation, a shared laugh, or a meal made with love. She was a devoted mother to her children and momal to her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than spending quality time with her family. Her compassion, patience, and generosity were unmatched and will be missed by all that were blessed to have known her.
She is survived by her husband, Senol Kocaman, whom she wed in 2017; four children, Kelly (Matt) Bowman of Shelby, Kyle (Liz) Elliott of Plymouth, Austin (Rebekah) Elliott of Shelby and his twin sister Autumn (Cody) Elliott of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Kendall and Karlie Bowman, Dawson, Jettson, Nora, Cohen and Myles Elliott, with her eighth grandchild, on the way. Five siblings, Marsha (Lyle) Chronister, Debbie (Rob) Yates, Karen (Mike) Bailey, Jenny (Matt) Roth, Adam Hicks; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louanna and Donald Hall, maternal grandmother Gladys (Bailey) Coffey-Jones and dear nephew, Drue Yates
Friends may visit the family at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Steven Schagg officiating.
