Kory Alan Bevelhymer, age 30, of Orient, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, December 27, 2025, at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Born November 27, 1995, in Galion, Ohio, to Roger and Annette (Strine) Bevelhymer, Kory had been a Shelby resident for numerous years before moving to Orient in 2019. He completed his education at London Homeschool Academy in 2015 before attending Hocking College, where he obtained his welder’s certification.
Kory loved animals, so naturally, working at VCA Animal Hospital for Dr. Tod Beckett, assisting with dogs, was a perfect fit for him. He was also skilled in riding reining horses due to the guidance of Shawn Flarida, Vincenzo Santos, Keith Ceddia, Brandon Brant, Jesse Gentile, and Ollie Griffeth. Over the years, Kory won numerous awards and earned his rookie belt buckle in 2013. He was also passionate about and proudly supported the U.S. military. In 2001, when Kory underwent a bone marrow transplant, his donor, John Thomas “Jack” Gorman was a United States Marine.
He enjoyed watching football, always rooting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He also never missed the opportunity to watch whatever team his brother, Bradley, was coaching or the teams his nephews were playing on.
In 2024, Kory became a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Grove City. He was also a member of the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) and the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA).
He is survived by his mother, Annette (Strine) Bevelhymer of Orient, Ohio; four siblings, Tiffany Wilson of Charleston, West Virginia, Bradley (Amber) Wilson of Auburn, Alabama, Wesley (Carlee) Bevelhymer of Florida, and Gregory Bevelhymer of Marlborough, Massachusetts; four nieces and nephews, Brady, Logan, Rylie, and Jaiden Wilson; two uncles, Donnie (Mary) Strine of Medina, Ohio, and Ronnie (Anne) Strine of Virginia; along with numerous other cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death and met in heaven with open arms by his father, Roger L. Bevelhymer, who passed away in 2022; infant brother Timothy Lee Bevelhymer, two aunts, Lisette Fisher, Linda Spreng; paternal grandparents, Frances and Francis Bevelhymer; and his maternal grandparents, Ron and Connie Strine.
