Elva Reed, age 95 passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the Ohio Health Hospital in Mansfield.
Born on May 22, 1930 to the late Kendall and Rosa (Shepherd) Bailey in Salyersville, Kentucky.
Elva loved being a caregiver to her family. She was an avid gardener, cook and enjoyed sewing. Her holiday peanut brittle was loved by all.
Those who will cherish her memories include her daughter, Beverly (Stan) Lawson, Shelby, Ohio; her granddaughters, Tina Reed and Tiffany (John) Grau; her great grandchildren, Autumn Kaufman, Christopher Kaufman, Jayden Reed, Timothy Tadijanac, Sarah Tadijanac, Kaitlyn Ogg and Augusta Grau; and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Christopher Reed, son Christopher Lynn Reed, grandson Aaron Michael Lewis, siblings, Delmer Bailey, James Bailey, Frank Bailey, Fred Bailey, Bert Bailey, Polly Lacey, Pearley Mize and Roberta Cole; and long-time friend, Eugene Rietschlin.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 starting at 11:00 AM at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Ohio Bird Sanctuary, 3774 Orweiler Rd, Mansfield, OH 44903.
