Marcine Shipman, age 94, of Galion passed away, Monday November 24, 2025 at OhioHealth Shelby Hospital.
Born June 29, 1931 in Wellington, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Stella (Koons) Sautter. She married Jack Shipman on June 24, 1951, and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2011.
She was a 1949 graduate of Galion High School. She was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and played in the bell choir after temporarily losing her voice after surgery. She belonged to the GG club in Sunbury where she made lifelong friends. Her greatest talent was sewing and she could make anything out of cloth from clothes to wedding gowns to dolls. She was very active in church and also enjoyed singing in the yearly Messiah performances in Galion and at the Renaissance Theater in Mansfield.
Marcine began her working career as a sophomore in high school doing bookkeeping at Galion Farm Service for her father. She worked at Jack Shipman International Harvester in Sunbury before moving to Galion, then spent 30 years working for Buckeye State Bank of Galion and Mansfield and its successors.
She is survived by her children: Jeff (Cindy) Shipman and Stephanie (Dennis) Miller, grandchildren: Wade (Ashley) Shipman, Spencer (Andrea) Shipman and Kara Miller, great grandchildren: Kali Kurkowski, Marissa Shipman and Jillian Shipman as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Jack, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Janet and Ed Lemke
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Friday November 28, 2025 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday November 29, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 291 N. Union Street, Galion with Jerusha Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
