ONTARIO — From food truck to full restaurant, Chick-fil-A is taking the next big step in Ontario.

Fans of the popular fried chicken chain will soon have their cravings satisfied near the intersection of North Lexington-Springmill Road and Village Mall Drive.

The restaurant is set to be built on the vacant lot next to Pet Supplies Plus.

Preliminary plans show the restaurant will be around 4,375 square feet with both interior and exterior seating, as well as 45 parking spots and a two-lane drive-thru.

Ontario growth continues with Chick-Fil-A

Ontario Zoning Inspector Benji Hall confirmed the project is still in its early stages. Chick-fil-A submitted its plan review application to the city on Oct. 23.

“There’s still a lot that needs to happen,” Hall said. “But it’s very exciting for Ontario. There’s a lot of growth happening right now.”

Hall said Chick-Fil-A is no stranger to Ontario. The food truck has frequented the area since 2019.

“The food truck was sort of a trial run to see how Chick-Fil-A would do in the area,” Hall said.

If all goes according to plan, Hall said Chick-fil-A’s engineer is estimating an opening between October and December of 2026.

Mayor Kris Knapp shared in the excitement. He said Ontario’s growth has been fueled by listening to residents and partnering closely with businesses.

Knapp noted the restaurant joins a wave of development in the area — including Raising Cane’s, Starbucks and ongoing improvements at The Ontario Center, plus much more.

“We are glad to have Chick-fil-A join the Ontario community,” Knapp said.
