Steven Dean McQuillen, beloved son of Nancy (Hamilton) McQuillen and the late Ronald D. McQuillen, was born on May 11, 1958, in Ashland, Ohio. He passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 23, 2025 in Aiken, SC
Steve graduated from Mansfield Christian High School and Ashland University. Following his education he worked in the family printing and office supply business in Mansfield, before moving to Columbus, Ohio, working in marketing and food service.
Music was at the heart of Steve’s life. He dedicated many years to playing guitar and keyboard in various bands throughout Ohio, most recently forming a band in Aiken, SC. His passion for music was matched by his enthusiasm for sports, as he was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cleveland Cavaliers, often cheering loudly for his teams.
Steve is survived by his mother, Nancy McQuillen of Aiken, South Carolina, sisters Diane (Alan) Stuart, Aiken, SC and Marcy Schuster, Mansfield, Ohio along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The McQuillen family will receive guests Friday, October 31, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where his funeral service will immediately follow at Noon. His cousin Jack Kehl will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
