Chuck was very devoted to his family. He took great pride in being a father and a greater joy in being a grandfather and great grandfather. He was a kind, gentle soul, full of wisdom and love. Chuck was the kind of person that would do anything for anyone. Known for being a great listener and offering thoughtful advice, he was someone his family and friends could always count on.
Chuck is survived by his four children: Bob (Gabrielle) Ryan, Kim (Kevin) Baker, Rick (Kim) Ryan and Mary Gentille. He was a proud grandfather to 12 children and great- grandfather to 13, and he knew and loved each one dearly.
One of his greatest joys was having a close connection with all of his grandchildren, who when visiting him would always make sure to add a piece to the puzzle he was working on. He was also blessed to spend time with each of his great-grandchildren during his lifetime.
In addition to his parents and wife, Chuck was preceded in death by his stepmother, Addie Ryan; his great-granddaughter, Aria Ryan; and his son-in-law, Brad Gentille.
Chuck and Betty were members of Resurrection Parish in Lexington for over 50 years and celebrated many family milestones at the church. He also dedicated 40 years of his life to a career in tool and die at General Motors from January 1961 to June 2001. After retirement, Chuck embraced Betty’s love of travel, visiting many destinations throughout the United States and abroad. He was an avid reader, a devoted jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, and always enjoyed a good game of rummy with his family. His warmth, humor, and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, wisdom, and family devotion will live on in his family.
