MANSFIELD — Richland County’s mightiest tykes put their strength to the test on Friday for the Kiddie Tractor Pull.
Kids aged 4 to 11 competed across four different age divisions as they each tried to pull the sled the furthest at the Richland County Fair.
Each division had different tractor sizes and sled weights to accommodate for the size of the pullers, but there was no shortage in effort from the participants.
Friends and families filled the Show Arena to cheer on each puller and offer words of encouragement as they slowly inched their way forward.
Madilynn Tuttle, 9, won her division with an impressive 60-inch pull. She was one of only three competitors to have a pull of over 50 inches in the division.
Tuttle says she has been doing pulls for three years, and was the winner of her division at last year’s fair.
“I saw the big tractor pull at the grandstand and also the kiddie pull and I wanted to get involved.”
The 10-11 division came down to a pull off, as four kids completed a full pull in the first round.
In the end it was Liliana Smith who won with her second full pull of the day.
