Gene Raymond Baker ,88 of Mansfield, Ohio went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2025.
On March 27, 1937 the good Lord blessed the world when Gene was born to Clarence and Ruth Baker in Ripley Township. Gene was raised on the family farm and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1955.
For 6 years Gene served our country in the Air National Guard and then in 2001 he retired from Warren Rupp where he was a Machinist and Protype Tool and Dye maker. Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and most importantly he loved spending time with his family. In Gene’s younger years, the 60’s and early 70’s, he enjoyed racing boats.
On October 14, 1983 Gene married the love of his life Lodean (Schmidt) Baker and they shared 42 years of life together. Gene stood very strong in his Faith and love for God. He served as a board member and Sunday school teacher at the First Church of the Open Bible.
Gene is survived by his loving wife Lodean Baker, his sons Greg (Priscilla) Baker, Adam Baker, Brad (Kimberly) Baker, Ryan (Maggie) Bradshaw and daughter Renata (Jeff) Corns. His brothers Dave (Deloris) Baker and Bill Baker, and his sister Linda Esterline and many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he adored, and his special companion and best friend Winston.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, sons Stanley Baker and Douglas Baker and an infant granddaughter Abryella Baker and an infant great-granddaughter Remi Marie Pearon.
Gene’s family would like to invite every to come to Gene’s memorial service and celebration of life. This will be held at the First Church of the Open Bible.1150 Rayfield Drive, Mansfield, Ohio on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Church of the Open Bible, Mansfield, Ohio.
