SHELBY — Shelby will honor those who died serving in the U.S. Armed Force with a Memorial Day event.

A parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with a cemetery program at 11 a.m. The parade lineup begins at 9 a.m.

The parade will start downtown and turn left onto Gamble Street, ending at the light at Gamble Street and Tucker Avenue at the Oakland Cemetery.

Anyone is welcome to be in the parade. No registration required.

The ceremony at the cemetery starts will honor the 34 military veterans who have passed away since last year’s program and who are buried in a Shelby-area cemetery.
