Supt. Brad Herman said the result is evidence of the community’s shared commitment to providing Lucas youth a quality education.

“The number one thing is to always remember, regardless of the result, we are dedicated to pursuing excellence — every child, every day,” Herman said. “I want to thank the community, not only for their support of this levy, but also their daily ongoing support. “

The levy costs property owners approximately $210 for each $100,000 of property value. It was  first approved by voters in May 2010 and renewed in November 2014 and 2019.

Lucas Local Schools had an enrollment of 386 students during the 2023-2024 school year. The district’s total revenue was close to $9.9 million, according to a five year forecast submitted to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
