Wilma J. Parsons, age 91, of Mansfield Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at her home following a brief illness.
On June 12, 1933, she was born in Mansfield Ohio to the late Arthur and Gladys Bail. On January 5, 1952 she married Thomas W Parsons and together they shared 73 years. Wilma was a dedicated nursery worker for over 40 years and attended the First Baptist Church in Ontario. She was a huge fan of the Cleveland Guardians and Cavaliers. She enjoyed garage selling and loved playing games, her favorite being Shanghai rummy. Wilma’s proudest achievement in her life was her relationship with God. Also spending time with her husband and taking road trips. She enjoyed eating breakfast at the Mansfield Restaurant and spending time with her grandchildren and baking. She was never without a smile and an I love you and a hug. If she told you she would pray for you she did it earnestly. No one ever left the house empty-handed.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Parsons; children, Brenda Shepherd, Tom (Andrea) Parsons, Sandra Parsons, Ron (Wendy) Parsons, Tracey (Brian) Grant, Amy Jo Taylor; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Elizabeth) Bail and sisters, Doris Rheinbolt and Carol Wiles.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Gladys Bail; brothers, Billy and Donnie Bail and sisters, Lena Fields and Betty Milligan.
The family would like to thank all that sent cards and food. A special thank you to Ohio Health Hospice with Compassus, especially Deanie Kehres for her love and compassion for our journey.
Family and friends may call on Saturday May 3, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 3216 Park Avenue West, Ontario, OH 44906. A brief memorial service will follow. A private graveside service will be held at a later time.
