Linda Carol Williams passed away peacefully after a long battle with COPD and breathing issues on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Samaritan (UHC) Hospital under the care of Gentiva Hospice. She was 71.
She was born on September 5, 1953 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Ralph Meadows and Ruth Bahr. Carol was a lifelong resident of the Mansfield area, attended Mansfield Senior High School, and worked as a correctional officer at both the Marion Correctional Institute and Richland Correctional Institute until her retirement in 2009.
On May 31, 1996, Carol married the love of her life, Raymond C. Williams, in Lucas Park. Together they shared 29 wonderful years together filled with laughter, love, and countless memories.
Carol will be lovingly remembered for her kind spirit, her unwavering positivity, and her deep affection for all creatures great and small. A talented home cook, she delighted in trying new recipes, though her deviled eggs remained a family favorite—requested at every gathering and never left untouched. Carol found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was the quiet challenge of a crossword puzzle, a game of Mahjong on her computer, or the comforting companionship of her beloved cats, Nemo and Loki. Her gentle heart, bright smile, and endless love for animals will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband Raymond C. Williams, son Michael Daniels, niece Debbie Carpenter, and uncle Harold Wyrick.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
The Williams family will receive guests on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 12-2 pm at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel. A celebration of life service for Linda will take place immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cat House Feline Sanctuary Inc. at 1130 E. Main St. #136, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at Gentiva Hospice for making Carol’s passing as peaceful as possible.
