About the event:
The Mansfield Men’s Garden Club is accepting nominations for our Beautification Awards Contest. The purpose of this contest is to promote beautification in Mansfield and the surrounding communities. Nominations will be accepted for properties in Richland County and surrounding communities in the following categories:
RESIDENTIAL
COMMERCIAL/CIVIC.
PORCH/PATIO
You may nominate your own property.
Winners in each category will receive an award recognition sign, a beautiful potted mum plant and an invitation to attend the Club’s Awards Dinner and Presentation in September.
Areas to be judged are not limited to the front of the property. Rear and side areas may also be included. Judging will focus on overall attractiveness, overall uniqueness, plant health, weed management, use of color, form and texture and use of space. Choice of plantings and contrast that the plantings create, visual interest, special qualities and overall curb appeal. Included may be landscape lawn features, garden ornaments, annuals, perennials, vegetables, fruits, containers and specialty gardens.
Applicants are eligible to win once every five years.
DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS IS
JULY 1, 2025
Nominated properties will receive a final visit by mid – August. Contest winners will be notified by the end of August.
