Monna May Au, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on September 17, 1933, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Howard and Donna (Means) Young.
A devoted Christian, Monna’s faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joyous and challenging times. She was the oldest of two daughters and cherished her family deeply. As a long-time member of Owl Creek Church, she shared her musical talents with her community, playing piano and singing for many years, uplifting the spirits of those around her.
Monna married her beloved husband, Robert Au, on October 11, 1952. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. She is survived by her children, Allen (Shirley) Au, Thomas (Tonya) Au, and Marjorie (Dennis) Riggans; grandchildren, Brandie, Mitchell, Adam, Robert, Amanda, Brian, and Matthew; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Marjorie McManis; and a host of cherished family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Au; her son, Daniel Au; and her parents.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:15 AM at Bellville Cemetery, with Pastor Doyle Payton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Au family.
