Ronald Eugene Francis Sr. passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Ron was born on June 7, 1934, in Comstock Park, Michigan. He led a remarkable life filled with dedication and service to his country.
He served honorably in the Navy for 21 years, achieving the rank of Senior Chief during his distinguished military career aboard the USS Francis Marion. He was a dedicated patriot who always displayed unwavering courage and commitment. Ron was also known for his witty sense of humor and his passion for Michigan sports.
Ron was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughters Catherine (James) Shrader and Karen (Eric) Johnson, as well as his son Ronald (Carole) Francis, Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Amber (Jason) Smith, Amanda (Danny) Frye, Nathan (Breanna) Volz, Shannon (Brooklyn) Volz, Justin (Brittany) Volz, Adam Johnson, Christopher Francis, Katrina (William) Keomany, Cody (Alexis) Lamb, along with 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 5 pm at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel. Military honors to follow.
