ONTARIO — Mansfield-Richland Area Educational Foundation Director Angie Cirone hopes to offer an opportunity to build connections between business professionals and non-profits on Thursday.
The inaugural Richland County non-profit fair will be at The Ontario Center (formerly the Richland Mall) on March 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. Non-profits will be set up in the center court.
“The idea of a non-profit fair has been discussed for the last few years,” Cirone said. “Our Leadership Unlimited advisory board has shared that non-profits are looking for board members or help from business experts, and on the other side, there’s a lot of business professionals who want to help, but might not know who to reach out to.
“So we’re hoping the Educational Foundation can serve as the entity to make those connections.”
The Leadership Unlimited Advisory Board of the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development will host the event, with current and former LU classes attending.
This is an opportunity for attendees to discover the impacts of local non-profits and take steps to volunteer or apply for a board position. Non-profit representatives will share their missions and opportunities at tables ready to engage with the public.
“The nonprofits that will be exhibiting are passionate about their organizations and the populations they serve,” Cirone said. “Anyone is welcome to attend and find a non-profit that aligns with their values and interests.
“I’m very happy with the number and variety of non-profits registered for the fair.”
A total of 42 non-profits will be at The Ontario Center March 13 for the inaugural non-profit fair.
Registration is encouraged for planning purposes, but walk-ins are welcome. Register and see the full list of non-profit exhibitors here.
Attendees will receive a list of participating non-profits and the roles they are interested in filling, such as event-based volunteer, year-round volunteer, task force member, or board member.
Attendees can also play the Nonprofit Fair Bingo game and be entered to win one of three VISA Gift Cards donated by Mechanics Bank.
