Stogiannia J. “Tony” Petrou, 81 of Mansfield passed from this life early Thursday morning, February 6, 2025 in the Kingston of Ashland.
He was born on January 21, 1944 in Polipotamos, Greece the son of the late Petros and Vasiliki (nee Matskaris) Petrou.
Tony proudly served in the Greek Army. In 1969 he came to America from Greece and made Mansfield his home.
Throughout his life, Tony was always a hard worker. He often enjoyed sitting outdoors and people watching, raising goats, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his two sons, Alex (Jennifer) Sharick of Ashland and Paul Sharick of Ashland; one daughter, Dawn Sharick of Ashland; five grandchildren, Simon, Owen, and Claire Sharick and Samuel and Ben Sharick; one brother, Tom (Fania) Petrou of Ontario and his niece and nephew, Lana Petrou and Pete Petrou.
In addition to his parents, Tony is preceded in death by one sister, Chrisoula Petrou who passed away in 1944; and one brother, George Petrou.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Mansfield, Ohio with Father Michael Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 265 W. Third St. Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
