Marjorie “Margie” R. Bailey, age 85, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at OhioHealth Mansfield.
Born on February 3, 1939, in Logan County, West Virginia, to Ransom and Geneveve (Kelly) Brewer, Margie brought light and laughter into the lives of all who knew her. She was a feisty, bossy, determined, and fun-loving woman who truly lived life to the fullest. Margie moved to Ohio in the 1960s, where she married William A. Bailey in 1963, and began building a life that would be filled with joy, love, and countless memories.
A dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Margie found great joy in spending time with her family. Whether it was playing cards with her loved ones—where she often made up her own rules—or hosting cookouts and family gatherings, she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Her laughter was contagious, and she had a gift for making everyone around her smile. Her grandchildren affectionately called her “Maw Maw,” a name that will forever carry the warmth and love she shared with them.
Margie worked for many years at American Electric, Thermo Disc, and Wal-Mart. She was also a devoted member of Stewart Road Church of God. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of her life, and she was deeply cherished by all who knew her.
Margie is survived by her son, Ricky (Sheri) Bailey; daughters, Bertina (Brian) Schwaderer and Sherry (Brian) Pancake; fourteen grandchildren, Alicia (Neil) Bailey-Conn, Anthony Bailey, Christopher (Lisa) Bailey, Monica (Christopher) Heinberger, Ricky (Betsy) Bailey, April (Mike) Ball, Ryan (Amie) Schwaderer, Tabitha Cetinich, Bethany Cetinich, Malory Cetinich, Cole (Jackie) Cetinich, Matt (John) Pancake, Tyler Pancake, and Joshua Hamilton; sixteen great-grandchildren, Kylie, Noah, Baylee, Brennan, Kennadee, Kolton, Hadlee, Damian, Violet, Cambree, Colt, Kenna, Jaxson, Logan, Carter, and Carley; two siblings, Delores Brewer Thomas and Kathy (Jim) Stehle; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Bailey; son, William Joseph Bailey; siblings, Ann Browning, Joe Brewer, Luther Brewer, and Earl Brewer; and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 12 PM to 1 PM at 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield, Ohio, with the funeral service following at 1 PM, officiated by Rev. Milo Johnson. Margie will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery.
