SHELBY — A 61-year-old woman was killed early Tuesday morning after a hit-skip crash along Mickey road in Shelby, according to the Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Barbara Warner, was walking on Mickey Road near Martin Drive when she was struck by an unknown vehicle, authorities stated in a press release. Warner was transported to Ohio Health Shelby Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Shelby Chief of Police Lance Combs said OSHP was requested to investigate the crash, which occurred at 6:44 a.m.

Mickey Road was temporarily closed Tuesday morning due to the investigation, but was reopened a few hours later.

No information on the vehicle involved in the fatal hit-skip crash was available Tuesday morning, OSHP said.

“Once we get a little bit further into the investigation, we may be asking for help (from the public), but right now we’re still very early into the investigation to know what we’re looking for,” the OSHP dispatcher said.
