Mona Lou Dunlap, 87, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on the evening of Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at OhioHealth in Mansfield after a very brief illness. Mona Lou was born on October 1, 1937 in Mansfield to Louis and Elsie Wissinger. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1955 and later graduated from Ashland College with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. Mona Lou taught at Shelby High for a short time and then went on to work for the City of Mansfield until she retired from the Finance Department in 2001. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Mansfield, and loved being engaged with her Bible study group.

Mona Lou was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her two sons, Dr. Duane D. Dunlap (best friend Melissa) of West Lafayette, IN, and Lt. Col. Robert L. Dunlap USAF (retired) (Vicki) of Crestline. Additionally, she is survived by 3 grandchildren, Charlotte (Joe) Strickler of West Lafayette, IN, Olivia (Wil) Redmond of Indianapolis, IN, and Matthew Dunlap of Crestline, along with 3 great-grandchildren Everett, Sutton, and Maverick.

Mona Lou was a kind, gentle Mother demonstrating her faith in Jesus Christ and Loved spending time with her family and friends. Mom enjoyed watching and being a Cleveland Guardians, The Ohio State, and a Purdue Boilermakers fan.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2024, 9:00-11:00 am at Berean Baptist Church, 2145 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield, Ohio, with a Celebration of Life service starting at 11:00am. Interment will be at Mansfield Memorial Park following the service.
