MANSFIELD — Liwen Li said her family saw an opportunity to serve fresh, authentic Chinese and Vietnamese food in Mansfield.

Li’s father Jerry is the owner and cook at Asian Taste, located at 20 Lexington Ave. in Mansfield.

The restaurant serves specialties including General Tso’s chicken, sesame chicken, beef with broccoli and brisket pho.

“We want to thank our supporters so far in the two months that we’ve been open,” Liwen said at the grand opening Wednesday. “I hope everyone can try our food and enjoy the restaurant here whether they’re a regular customer or are new to these flavors.”

Li said the best-sellers so far have been crab rangoon and egg rolls.

“We have a variety of Chinese dishes and Vietnamese noodle soup, which is called Pho,” she said.

Elected officials and staff members from the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development attended the grand opening with the Li family on Wednesday.

Fifth Ward Councilman Aurelio Diaz congratulated the family on their accomplishment.

“Thanks for your support of Mansfield and contributing to our cultural food and community here,” he said.

Asian Taste is located at 20 Lexington Ave. next door to Verve Graphix.
