SHELBY — The Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment has been busy in June and July, according to Sensei Reneta Music.

“We performed at the Ontario Children’s Festival, had a booth set up and performed at the Shelby Car Show/Farmer’s Market,” Music said. “Additionally, we had two promotion days, one in July and one in June.”

The following students earned belt promotions in June:

– Jackson Parmer: Red Belt

– Adrian Potts: Purple Belt

– Theo Flanders: Purple Belt

– Penelope Potts: Yellow Belt

Daviney Winck received her yellow belt in July.

Throughout both months, there were promotions for attendance and second stripe.

Student of the month for June was Theo Flanders and Students of the Month for July are Blake Schwartz, Tim Elias and Sol Phillips.

“It’s a tradition that the up coming black belts are recognized as student of the month for the month of July,” Music said.

“At the Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment, our goal is to empower individuals through traditional karate, self-protection, and strength training. We strive to provide everyone with the opportunity to become the best version of themselves,” she said.
