ONTARIO — The Warriors waited an extra day to begin their district title defense.

Second-seeded Ontario knocked off No. 6 Clyde 4-1 in Saturday’s weather-delayed sectional championship game at Ontario High School.

The Warriors (15-9) will meet No. 3 Sandusky Perkins in a Division II district semifinal game at 5 p.m. Thursday at Fremont Ross. The Pirates advanced with an 11-1 win over Vermilion.

Ontario, which won the district title last year on its way to a Division II state runner-up finish, is one of five area teams to reach district play.

Clear Fork, the top seed in the Division II Bluffton district, will meet No. 5 Upper Sandusky in a district semifinal game at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Colts (22-4) dispatched No. 7 Lima Bath 3-0 in the sectional championship game while No. 5 Upper Sandusky (16-6) upset No. 4 Galion 3-1.

Ninth-seeded Lexington upset No. 2 Wapakoneta 6-2 to reach this week’s Bluffton district. The Minutemen (11-17) will meet No. 8 St. Marys Memorial at 5 p.m. Thursday in Bluffton. St. Marys upset No. 3 Celina 2-1 to advance.

Division III

Third-seeded Wynford will take on No. 6 Margaretta at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Division III Shelby district semifinals. The Royals (18-8) knocked off Crestview 7-6, while Margaretta beat Willard 7-1.

Division IV

Fifth-seeded Plymouth roughed up No. 4 Lucas 11-0 to win a sectional title. The Big Red (11-12) will take on No. 2 South Central in a Division IV Galion district semifinal at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Heise Park. South Central advanced with a 10-0 win over Buckeye Central.
