Ruth Ann (Smith) Molihan passed away on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, after fighting and bravely enduring years of ongoing health complications.

Ruth was born October 3, 1948 to her beloved mother, Ruth Ann (Mapes) Smith and father, Robert Pearl Smith – in Mansfield, Ohio where she remained a lifelong resident. Known for her fun, rambunctious and fearless personality, she was regarded as the life of the party and remained young at heart. Her sense of humor, and kind and giving nature attracted many loyal friends. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her Christmas cookies and chocolate strawberries with family and friends and loved spoiling the children in the family.

Loved by her family, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Molihan, sons Jerry Molihan Jr., and Jack Molihan both of Mansfield, and grandsons Jason Molihan of Arlington, VA and Landon Davidson of Cincinnati, OH. She is also survived by her brothers Richard (Ellen) Smith of Manteno, IL, Paul (Sue) Smith of Mansfield, OH, and countless other beloved close relatives, cousins, and family friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Robert Mapes, Hazel (Smith) Armstrong, Thelma (Smith) Chapman, Kenneth Smith, George Smith, Albert Smith, Delores (Smith) Ramey, Robert Smith, and Martha (Smith) Lawhorn.

Calling hours will be from 2pm – 4pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Ave., East. Funeral services will be the following day on Monday, May 20, 2024 beginning at Noon with Pastor Sid Ramey officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Church Cemetery.
