MANSFIELD — It’s time to get to work together to clean up our community and the City of Mansfield is asking for your help with Operation Clean Sweep.

The operation, which is a partnership between the City of Mansfield, Downtown Mansfield Inc. and Earth Stewardship Month, will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

The goal of the operation is to get to work together to reduce litter in downtown Mansfield.

To that end, the City of Mansfield is asking for volunteers, local business people, and organizations to help with planting flowers in all of the planters in the downtown area, as well as cleaning up litter and disposing of it.

Volunteers will meet at 4:45 p.m. at the Gazebo in Central Park (near the Gazebo) with work clothes and a rain date of Thursday, May 23, in case of inclement weather.

The City of Mansfield will provide collection bags, gloves, and disposal of the litter collected.

After the event, volunteers will also be entered into a drawing to win prizes at the Earth Stewardship Awards ceremony.

“This has been a very successful partnership with Downtown Mansfield, Inc. for nearly 3 decades and I appreciate all of their leadership,” said Mansfield Mayor Jodie Perry.

“I want to encourage people to join us for the 28th anniversary event and help us ensure that downtown Mansfield is ready for the thousands of visitors who come to the area each summer.”
