BUCYRUS — A trio of cows on the lam created a disturbance Wednesday night and into Thursday morning in Bucyrus.

Just before 10 p.m., Bucyrus police assisted a manager from Producers Livestock on Plymouth Street,  who was attempting to round up three cows that had gotten loose.

A resident in the 300 block of Clinton Street reported cows in the yard, “moving in the vicinity of the soccer fields at Harmon Park,” according to police.

The owner joined officers trying to corral and stop the cows. “Two of the cows were shot, but ran into a wooded area east of Harmon Park and are still unaccounted for,” police said.

On Thursday at 5:25 a.m., a single bovine was reported on the loose near Arby’s parking lot in the 100 block of Plymouth Street. It was last seen eastbound, again toward the soccer fields at Harmon Park.

“This cow and two others remain unaccounted for,” police said. “If anyone sights a cow, do not approach them. Call 419-562-1006 and report their location.”

As of 10 a.m., there had been no additional sightings.
