MANSFIELD — The construction taking place over nearly 10 acres of land on Kingwood Center Gardens has nixed the annual Pumpkin Glow this autumn.

But in its place Kingwood is offering a weekly Fall Flicker.

“There was no way we could have the annual 10,000 people we get during the Pumpkin Glow over the coarse of those two days,” said Brenda Nelson, director of development and marketing at Kingwood. “Instead, we are taking the best parts of the glow and downsizing them.”

Kingwood Center Gardens is located at 50 N. Trimble Road in Mansfield. Nelson said the venue will still be hosting community pumpkin carvings each Wednesday.

“Instead of doing 2,000, we are doing 200 a week and having a smaller lit pumpkin walk,” she said.

The pumpkin walks are each Thursday and Friday in October running from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The first two weeks of Fall Flicker have gone well, Nelson said. The remaining dates for Fall Flicker will be Oct. 17, 18, 24 and 25. Admission is through the Linden road gate only.
