GALION, Ohio — A new salon by the name Mirror Mirror Salon opened its doors for business Thursday.
Located at 602 B Harding Way West, the salon served as a gathering place Thursday morning for several local officials who welcomed the new business to the area during a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Salon owner Katie Adams said this will be her first experience owning a salon. She became licensed in cosmetology and managing in 2014. While taking classes in Marion for her certification, “I really liked the managing part of it. Then I found this building, and it was in a good location, so that’s what kind of pushed me into opening this salon,” she said.
As a cosmetologist, she can do both hair and nails, she said. Nail services currently include manicures, pedicures and acrylics. She said she hopes to offer gel polish application soon. Hair services include coloring, cutting and styling. “We also have a new smooth system–it straightens your hair and makes your hair super smooth,” she said.
She has one hair stylist, Abby Wake, and Wake’s husband, Andrew, is a distributor of J Beverly Hills products, which are sold at the salon.
“You will not see a barcode on any of the products because they aren’t sold in stores,” Andrew Wake said. “They’re a true professional product.”
The salon is open Tuesday – Saturday.
Adams said, “I will be open the earliest I need to be.” She added that she can stay open as late as 9 p.m.
