ONTARIO, Ohio — Lisa Carmichael will remain superintendent of the Ontario Local School District for the next five years.

Her contract, which was slated to expire July 31, 2016, was amended to reflect a succeeding term commencing Aug. 1, 2016 through July 31, 2020.

The Ontario Local Schools Board of Education approved a resolution to amend her contract at their regular meeting Tuesday evening.

Treasurer Randy Harvey said neither the superintendent’s salary nor benefits will increase as a result of this extension.

Carmichael joined the district as superintendent in August of 2011.

She thanked the board for their support, adding that she is looking forward to continue serving at Ontario Local Schools.

In personnel matters, the board approved the employment of Jake Stimpert as a seventh grade science teacher at the middle school and Britta Kuenzli as a study hall monitor at the high school for the 2015-2016 school year.

The board also approved the contract of Matt Wentz as a direct care/registered nurse effective for the 2015-2016 school year.
